Five people died in a head-on collision at Osam Junction near Kyekyewere-Dadwen in the Ashanti Region on Sunday 28th, April 2024.

The two vehicles involved was a timber truck without timber logs coming from Kumasi to Obuasi whiles the Ssangyong vehicle was from the opposite direction.

Five people in the ssangyong istana died on the spot this afternoon.

According to an eyewitness, the ssangyong vehicle tried to overtake a saloon in a top speed leading to the collision with the timber truck.

Other passengers also sustained various degrees of injuries.

The deceased are said to include two women and three men whose identities are not currently known.

Meanwhile, the bodies have been deposited at the obuasi Government Hospital while the injured are undergoing treatment.
