Two policemen have been killed in a fatal shooting at Block factory, a suburb of East Trasacco in Accra.

The unfortunate incident unfolded on Thursday evening, approximately around 6 pm, when the two off-duty officers were targeted and shot in front of their private residence.

In a brief statement issued on Thursday, the police authorities confirmed the launch of an intelligence-driven operation aimed at apprehending the perpetrators behind this heinous act.

“The Ghana Police Service is currently engaged in a vigorous manhunt for two unidentified gunmen responsible for the fatal shooting of two off-duty police officers outside their private residence at Block Factory, East Trasacco, Accra. This incident occurred on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at approximately 6:00 pm,” stated the police.

Despite the assailants fleeing the scene without taking any belongings from the victims, law enforcement remains resolute in their pursuit, utilizing intelligence-led strategies to ensure the swift arrest of the suspects.
