A 25-year-Old Graduate Of KNUST Has Been Arrested In Connection With The Tragic Incident Involving The Stabbing Of A lady Resulting In Her Untimely Death.
A 25-year-old graduate of KNUST named Patrick Adu Gyamfi has been taken into custody for the unfortunate incident involving the loss of a young lady’s life.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, while she was visiting at his friend’s mother’s residence in Kumasi during the Christmas holidays. In Patrick’s third year at KNUST, he faced significant challenges with his finances that almost led him to consider leaving school.
At a certain juncture, he found himself in a situation where he was apprehended for selling phones that belonged to the phone dealers he was collaborating with, all in order to fund his ongoing education.
A dear friend of Patrick, whom he has been acquainted with since their Junior High School days, kindly informed his mother about Patrick’s current situation.
The mother, fully aware of their long-standing friendship, promptly went to the police station and firmly expressed her willingness to pay off all the debts in order to secure his release, which she successfully accomplished.
Since then, his friend’s mother graciously provided him with accommodation, took care of him, and covered his fees. Patrick stayed in the house, completed university, finished his National Service, and the woman kindly helped him secure a job right after his service.
The family’s relationship with Patrick was getting better until December 26, 2023, when the woman came back from a visit and noticed an Uber driver leaving her house. She patiently waited for the driver to depart before proceeding with her own vehicle.
As soon as she entered, she noticed that Patrick was holding hands with Akua Afriyie, the 22-year-old daughter of her friend who had come to visit for the Christmas holidays on December 22nd. Patrick kindly decided to move her into the room, which came as a surprise since Akua had never met him before.
Curiosity sparked within her, leading her to inquire about the source of the sound. However, just as she was about to approach the door, an unfamiliar noise emanated from the room.
She entered the room hurriedly and was taken aback to discover that Patrick had inflicted injuries on Akua’s neck, back, and hand.
The individual made an aggressive move towards her with a sharp object, but was able to flee the scene. She promptly informed the neighbors and the Uber driver who arrived at the house.
Regrettably, Akua did not survive.I’m sorry to hear that they had deep cuts and passed away suddenly. Patrick had gone missing following the incident, but he was recently discovered at his hideout in Obuasi, just two days ago.
Emmanuel Kwame Seyram, a friend of the suspect, was also apprehended for harboring a murderer. They were classmates at SHS.
