Voter Registration Exercise Day 2: Software Error Causes Delay in Wassa Amenfi East constituency

The Wassa Amenfi East Electoral Commission in the Western region has faced a major hurdle during the voter registration exercise. Due to a critical software error, the EC is yet to register even a single voter applicant as at 4:00pm when our correspondent visited the registration centre on Wednesday 8,2024.

The glitch in the registration software has left the EC officials baffled and the residents of this constituency in dismay. The technical malfunction occurred early in the morning as the registration process commenced, causing widespread confusion and frustration amongst both the applicants and the EC staff.

Speaking in an interview with AbrewaNanakwabenaTewiahTik3se3, Rivers fm  and kingsjerseymedia reporter, Mr Sammy, EC Boss said, the problem was first uncovered early this morning when the registration machines failed to activate, leaving many frustrated would-be voters standing around for hours.

He claimed that, the officials were unable to resolve the issues despite their best efforts, causing a complete halt to the registration process.

He then reassured the public that they were doing everything in their power to rectify the issue, and that the registration process would recommence soon.

Meanwhile, Mr Sammy therefore stressed that foreigners and minors who will attempt to register in the on-going registration exercise will be dealt with according to the laws of Ghana
