Kejetia: Chaos, wailing and curses as trading groups clash over trading space

Part of Kejetia Market was thrown into chaos, wailing and curses after some trading groups reportedly clashed on trading spaces on Thursday May 30, 2024.

The space according to the traders was sold to them by the operations manager at the facility, one Nana Poku, who they claim sold that very space to another set of traders leading to a heated argument in the facility.

One of the traders (name withheld) in an interview with OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng revealed that Mr Poku made them to pay GH¢10,000 Ghana for two spaces with each having 0. 8 square meters.

They noted that, after paying the money on table top in the office of the operations manager, he ordered them to pay extra amount of Gh¢ 4924 at a bank for the official receipt, which they declined.

They noted that, the operations manager has since gone after them in an attempt to get them out of the very space he took huge sums of money for

The latest move according to the traders was Mr Poku selling the space to another trading groups leading to the traders fighting.

They have therefore vowed that, they will not vacate the space until their monies are refunded to them

The operations manager, Nana Poku however denied selling space to the traders

He however revealed that some unscrupulous individuals are using his name to extort monies from the traders
