NO ROAD, NO VOTE- RESIDENTS OF KWAHU OSUBENG CHANTS
The residents of Kwahu Osubeng in the Kwahu South Municipal of the Eastern region, have declared their stance not to vote in this year’s election if the deprolable road linking Kwahu Praso is not fixed.
The bad situation of the road is not only affecting the drivers but, passengers also lament of paying high fares.
Numerous promises made by politicians especially during electioneering years have all proven futile.
The MP for the area, Hon Davis Opoku Ansah (OPK) when coming into power said, his predecessor who’s currently the Eastern regional minister has failed the people of Osubeng and he will do everything possible to get the road constructed.
The residents have always been organizing a communal labour to fix some parts of the road.
It has also revealed that the MCE, Hon Emmanuel Attah Ofori Snr. is not in good terms with the people of Osubeng when they resisted mining activities in the area.
Meanwhile, the Kwahu Fodoa road linking Sukwa, Atuobikrom and other surrounding areas have been constructed leaving Osubeng people in sorrow.
According to the residents, the MP has only been seeing during party primaries and sometimes attending funerals without having time to listen to their concerns.
The MCE who represents the president also visit the area when there’s an issue about mining in the area.
Sadly, not long ago, traders traveled from many places to foodstuffs at Osubeng but due to the dilapidated road, they have stopped and the market place too is not anything good to write about.
The people have now understood that our political leaders have taken them for granted and therefore decided that, they’ll advise themselves in the 2024 elections.
