ANGRY CHIEFS AND RESIDENTS THREATEN TO INVOKE COURSE ON NPP PARTY AND ANYONE WHO WILL VOTE FOR THE PARTY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES FOR LACK OF ELECTRICITY

Agitated chiefs and residents in eight (8) communities namely; Kainan, Mampongso, Mantekrom, Odumase, Nsuoakyir and other communities all in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district of central region have given the NPP government a two weeks ultimatum 15th October, 2024 to put them on the national grid else they will vote massively against this NPP gov’t. They also threatened to invoke courses on anyone in the affected communities who will defy the orders and vote for NPP on December 7.

Speaking with Onua tv/fm News on behalf of the 8 affected communities, Nana Yaw Adoboah I the chief of Twifo Nsuoakyir lamented that over 1,000 residents in the affected communities have been pressing for electricity connection for the past 8 years but all efforts have been in futility.

He added that in the midst of their constant demand for electricity, the government awarded the project to a contract in 2016. The contractor was able to mount all the low tension poles and laid cables on some of the poles. However, the contractor has suddenly abandoned the work.

Nana stressed that if by October 15, the government does not call the contractor back on site to complete the work and activate the power for them to enjoy electricity, the chiefs will perform rituals to restrain anyone in the area from voting for the ruling New Patriotic Party on Dec 7

*Onua tv / fm reporter Nana Kwame Essel,* spoke with some of the aggrieved residents who also voiced out their bitterness about the upset situation they find themselves in.

Hon. Augustine Appiah is the assembly man for Bimpongso electoral area also accused the Supervisor that is the Foreman of the project for allegedly smuggling the materials meant for the project. “We have since reported the foreman to both the DCE and police commander in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district to call and investigate him about those missing materials”, Hon. Augustine Appiah noted.
