WE USE TORCHLIGHT OR “BOBO” WHEN DELIVERING PREGNANT WOMEN DUE TO LACK OF ELECTRICITY.. Senior midwife laments

The senior midwife at Twifo Bimpongso CHIPS compound in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district of central region madam Patience Adzadzi is wailing that lack of electricity in the area has woefully affected quality healthcare delivery. She emphasized that they use either torchlight or lantern (Bobo) at night when they are delivering a pregnant woman who is in labour.

Madam .Patience also mentioned that the health workers who work at the Bimpongso CHPS compound  have to transport medicines to Twifo Praso which is about 20 kilo for refrigeration and bring it back when they need it to treat patients.

The CHPS compound is equiped with filled poly tank but due to lack electricity to empower it, the nurses have to fall on stream water to treat patients which also poses another health danger to the patients, she noted *CUE IN…1: 20secs*

There are about 10 other adjoining communities in the area with the population of about fifteen thousand (15,000) people who are also highly affected by the lack of electricity situation. Some of them are; Twifo Kainan, Twifo Nkwankyemaso, Twifo Nsuakir, Twifo Mantekrom among others.
