Ghanaian MASLOC Boss Jailed in Absentia for Stealing Millions

A former head of Ghana’s microfinance agency, Sedina Tamakloe Attionu, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on April 17th, 2024, for stealing millions of Ghanaian cedis (GH¢) from the organization.

Attionu, who is believed to be outside the country, was tried in absentia. Another MASLOC official, Daniel Axim, received a 5-year sentence for his involvement.

The presiding judge condemned the actions and stressed the importance of integrity for public servants.
