KODA IS REPORTED DEAD
Ghanaian Gospel singer, songwriter, and record producer, KODA, privately known as Kofi Owusu Dua Anto is dead.
Per the report, the gospel musician died today, Sunday, 21st April 2024.
The cause of his death is not yet known, however, First News promises its avid readers to follow the story and give updates when necessary.
His last album he released before his demise was βKetekeβ in 2021.
KODA fell in love with musical instruments at a tender age. His mother enrolled him in a music class at the age of 10 where he developed his skills to play the guitar. He went to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he became the mass choir director of the university.
KODA was also the music director and instrumentalist of the βMusic Wing of Baptist Students Unionβ, βKNUSTβs Simply Jazz Crewβ, βGodβs Instrumentsβ and a leading member of βDa Projectβ which was a legendary Ghanaian contemporary gospel group then.
After tertiary education, he co-wrote, mixed, mastered and produced the exceptional album, Awurade Ei for KNUSTβs βGodβs Instrumentsβ at KODED studios, Takoradi, Ghana. The album received massive recognition in the country. It had great hits such as βAwurade Eiβ (βSe Woma Wonsa Soaβ), βTumiβ and βOnyameβ Ye Dβawaseβ.
He also worked on Nii Okaiβs Moko Be and Gye Wβayeyi albums which actually blew him up as a producer.
KODA has worked with many gospel artists in and out of Ghana including the likes of Nii Okai, βPastor Joseph Gyebiβ, Danny Nettey, Pastor Joe Beecham, βDaughters of Glorious Jesusβ, βJoyful Way Inc.β, Pastor Helen Yawson, Yaw Osei-Owusu, βIke Nanorβ, Eugene Zuta, Jesse Jenkins, Diana Hamilton and Calvis Hammond, among others.
